Please note that you will be prompted to answer a series of questions and will be asked to submit documentation at the end of your application, therefore you will not be able to complete your application until you have all of the required items. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Before completing an application, there are a few items that you must consider or do beforehand:

If you are applying to be a Peer Mentor:
- You must have a GPA at or above a 3.0 to be considered for this position.
- You cannot work more than 10 hours per week per CSU Student Employment Policies.

I affirm that the information I have provided on this application is correct and true. I understand the responsibilities and requirements of this position and that my employment is contingent on meeting these requirements. I also understand that if I am hired I will be expected to fulfill the minimum requirements outlined below:

Beginning of Semester training in August, 2022
Starfish and/or Blackboard training
Attend all class sessions
Attend bi-weekly meetings with other Peer Mentors and a Graduate Student Supervisor
Midterm and/or end of the semester staff meeting
Coordinate multiple out-of-class activities that will acquaint the students with the resources of Cleveland State University and the city of Cleveland
Tracking student attendance for class sessions and out-of-class activities
Assist with FYE programming throughout the semester

Additionally, The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. Under FERPA, it is illegal to release the academic records of any student without their prior written consent. Therefore, permission is needed. I hereby give my permission to Cleveland State University to release academic information about me to the Office of First Year Experience.
